Thought for the day

Thanks very much for all the supportive comments.  I love the feedback.
Elly, I had that idea as well!
Roo, you are welcome to bring your own if you like, but I have no less than four snow shovels here.  I will warn you though, if you really want to challenge me, I may let your win ;)
I have even engineered a solution for a design defect that my shovels have.
Notice I had to drill out the original support webbing in order to get the hose clamp to stay where it is needed and you can see right in the centre, the crack that developed on all of my shovels.  I am not sure it if is just weak in that spot, or if moisture gets in which then freezes and expands, causing the break.  Regardless, my solution has proven bullet proof over a number of years use.

So where's the thought, you are asking?
I am frequently amazed by the world I live in.  Yesterday, I was reading a story about a new rocket design.  This led me on a bit of a google chase about rocket speeds in general, and I came across a story about the probe that is on its way to the sun. It will eventually reach a speed of  692,000 km/h.  There aren't enough adjectives for me to describe how amazing that is!  Just a few other things that amazed me in the last couple of days......how dexterous our dog is with his front paws....hot and cold running water.....a little computer I carry in my pocket that has more power than what was used to send people to the moon, and the fact that I can push a few buttons on said device one day, and two days later, the things that I was looking at pictures of, actually materialize at my front door!
I quite enjoy choosing to think about all the little everyday things that are part of my life.  If nothing else it helps me to appreciate them, and realize just how incredibly fortunate I am.

  1. John I like where you are at in life. In the moment, appreciative and grateful. You’ve had your fair share of challenges but you have not let them define you. Keep being you!
By the way, great solution for your snow shovels. Curious why you have so may snow shovels?
    Love old Roo
